About The Position

Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties and perform physical labor at construction sites. The position requires the ability to perform a variety of duties, follow instructions, prioritize safety, and maintain orderly work areas. Work takes place in changing outdoor weather and construction or industrial environments, which may be noisy, dusty, confined, cluttered, and uneven. The role may involve working irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays, accessing elevated work areas, and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, a fit-for-duty medical evaluation, and a background check.
• Ability to move about a construction or industrial site and perform physical activities including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; access equipment or work areas using ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, or scaffolds, potentially at heights exceeding 200 feet.
• Ability to work in confined, cluttered, and uneven spaces and in noisy and dusty environments.
• Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site, when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist craftspeople with setting up work as required.
• Follow instructions from superintendents, foremen, and other experienced crew members.
• Perform required duties with safety as the first priority.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Read and understand warning signs, equipment operating instructions, jobsite safety rules, and jobsite policies.
• Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules, and perform other duties as required.
