About The Position

Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment in yards and on industrial and commercial property. Works with materials including wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall, using hand and power tools to repair and erect structures. The role also involves estimating dimensions, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, and materials needed for work activities, and inspecting subordinate work for compliance with contract plans and specifications. The employee identifies deficiencies, explains them, and takes necessary corrective action.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools.
• Able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, potentially exceeding 200 feet.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair structural woodwork and equipment in yards and on industrial and commercial property.
• Work with wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall.
• Use chisels, planes, saws, drills, sanders, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools to repair and erect structures.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, and materials needed for work activities.
• Inspect subordinate employees’ work for compliance with contract plans and specifications; identify deficiencies, explain them, and take corrective action.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
