About The Position

This role involves a variety of carpentry tasks in an industrial construction setting. The Carpenter Journey will be responsible for reading blueprints, selecting and preparing materials, constructing and assembling structures, and ensuring the safety and quality of their work. This includes working with various tools and equipment, often in challenging environments such as heights and uneven terrain.

Requirements

• 48 months of industrial construction experience.
• Must have experience working at heights.
• Functional knowledge of proper use of fall protection equipment.
• Ability to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
• Ability to climb vertical ladders and work above/below ground as necessary.
• Ability to climb rebar walls and cages and work at heights.
• Safe dexterous use of hand tools.
• Safe operation of power tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Reads and understands blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
• Selects proper size and type of building materials according to project specifications and dimensions.
• Plans installation to avoid obstructions.
• Prepares layout using rule, framing square, and chalk line.
• Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.
• Shapes materials to prescribed measurements using saws.
• Assembles cut and shaped materials by fastening them together with nails or screws.
• Verifies the trueness of a structure using a plumb bob and carpenters level.
• Erects shoring and installs plywood decking.
• Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
• Unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
• Cleans tools and equipment.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Safely traverses uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
• Climbs vertical ladders and works above/below ground as necessary.
• Performs a variety of tasks involving safe dexterous use of hand tools.
• Safely operates power tools and equipment.
• Climbs rebar walls and cages and works at heights.
