About The Position

Temple University's Main Campus Facilities Department is searching for a Carpenter II. This role involves performing skilled carpentry, assisting with the maintenance, repair, and renovation of all carpentry aspects of university buildings. The position requires maintaining a safe and workable environment for all building users and emphasizes high-quality work and efficiency. Candidates should possess excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. The position also requires a motor vehicle driver's license check, drug screening, and a physical examination.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a carpenter, or full journey status as a carpenter in a union or five years applicable work experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to travel between campus work sites.
  • Ability to be a team player and work towards common goals in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Capable of prioritizing urgent projects and working in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
  • Capacity to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
