About The Position

The Carpenter II is responsible for the successful completion of assigned jobs, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality, safety, and professional communication. Carpenters work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in confined spaces, and must be adaptable to various conditions. They utilize a range of hand tools and are expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment and tools.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
A minimum of eighteen months of work experience.
A minimum of one hundred fifty successful hours of trade-related vocational instruction.
Knowledge of general carpentry work in maintenance and repair projects.
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, safety practices, and equipment used in the carpentry trade.
Understanding of safety factors in the operation of equipment and materials.
Knowledge of laminating, cabinet making, and all types of carpentry.
Knowledge of applicable safety codes, ordinances, and regulations.
Ability to read and work from blueprints, technical manuals, charts, and schematics.
Ability to erect and work from scaffolding and high places.
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports on completed assignments.
Ability to operate and maintain a variety of equipment and tools.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships.

TRADE SHOW INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities

Perform carpentry duties for building alterations, maintenance, and repair projects, including constructing stairs, walls, counters, partitions, shelves, cabinets, ramps, concrete forms, barricades, sheds, bleachers, scaffolding, and fences.
Repair furniture, desks, tables, chairs, doors, roofs, stairs, handrails, cabinets, floor tile, carpet, signs, and baseboards to ensure they are functional and safe.
Evaluate blueprints and plans to ensure projects are completed according to specifications.
Fabricate specialized items such as cabinets and furniture to meet unique needs.
Operate woodworking equipment and machines to process lumber for doors, cabinets, shelves, molding, and related fixtures.
Assemble and fasten materials using hand tools, wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue to create frameworks or props.
Maintain equipment rooms, shops, vehicles, and tools. Remove and replace damaged or defective sections of structures.
Move necessary materials around the jobsite.
Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner.
Clean up worksite debris.
