About The Position

The Carpenter II is a technically complete residential carpenter who serves as Red House’s on-site day-to-day production leader when the Lead Carpenter is absent. The role performs all categories of residential carpentry independently and to company standards, directs Carpenter I and Apprentice employees, and maintains quality, safety, and productivity. Carpenter IIs may run smaller jobs independently when assigned. The role is a craft-track position in its own right, while also offering a path toward Lead Carpenter for those who choose it. The position is expected to demonstrate Red House’s core values of Care, Clarity, and Trust. The Carpenter II works full-time, 40 hours per week, plus overtime as required, onsite at active Red House jobsites in Providence and within roughly 30 minutes of 177 Sherburne Street, with occasional work in Massachusetts and Southern Rhode Island. Jobsites may be up to an hour from headquarters, plus traffic, and assignments change as project phases change. Compensation is $32–$42 per hour. Benefits for full-time employees are described as subject to the Employee Handbook. A company vehicle with fuel card is standard for Carpenter II/Lead Carpenter, but discretionary for Carpenter II, subject to an MVR check and signed vehicle agreement.
