Requirements

Successful completion of the Building Trades Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three years of experience in the construction, installation, repair, restoration, or maintenance of structures and articles made from wood, composite, and wood substitute materials; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
Must meet the PA residency requirement.
Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

Keep the carpenter shop organized and uphold safe housekeeping practices
Repair roofs, soffits, spouting, and other building features to maintain safety and stability
Build forms, frames, partitions, ceilings, and install or repair doors using hand and power tools
Create shelves, furniture, and other wooden items to support individual living areas
Fix wood, concrete, and manufactured surfaces and apply paint when needed
Work with other trades on tasks such as concrete work, moving equipment, repairing beds, or assisting with welding
