About The Position

Covenant Aviation Security (CAS) is seeking Cargo Screeners to support UPS cargo screening operations at Dallas Fort-Worth Airport (DFW). This role is ideal for individuals seeking supplemental employment who have the flexibility to work weekend hours. All shifts are currently available, and weekend work is required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • U.S. citizen, U.S. National or lawful permanent resident
  • Must possess an original U.S. Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, or a valid U.S. Passport for I-9 verification.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess a valid state-issued Driver's License or Identification Card.
  • Must successfully pass: TSA Security Threat Assessment, Airport Security Background Investigation, 7-year employment, education, and criminal history verification, Pre-employment, random, and annual drug screening requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a color vision recognition test
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to safely work in environments where trained detection dogs are regularly present.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cargo screening, aviation security, warehouse, logistics, or security experience.
  • Experience operating X-ray or screening equipment.
  • Experience working in a regulated or safety-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical inspections of cargo, containers, pallets, personal property, and freight in accordance with TSA regulations.
  • Operate X-ray equipment, Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) equipment, and other approved screening technology.
  • Perform physical searches of cargo when required.
  • Verify all person’s credentials and badges, ensuring the name, company and expiration date are all present on the badge. Verifying the picture matches the person seeking access.
  • Identify prohibited or suspicious items and follow established escalation procedures.
  • Verify shipping documentation and ensure compliance with customer and TSA requirements.
  • Prevent unauthorized or prohibited materials from entering aircraft.
  • Maintain continuous chain of custody and security of screened cargo.
  • Complete required reports, logs, and screening documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow all TSA, UPS, customer, and Covenant Aviation Security Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain operational awareness and communicate security concerns to supervisors.
  • Direct and regulate the movement of employees and the public by vehicle or on foot to ensure the safety of UPS clients, customers, guests, personnel, and company property.
  • Utilize radios and other communication equipment as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
