About The Position

The Cargo Manager is responsible for overseeing the direction of a variety of cargo handling functions for airline customers at airport cargo facilities. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Report/ MVR.
  • Must pass a drug test, background check, and be able to obtain airport security clearance.
  • Three years' progressive management experience in cargo/freight handling including customer service or bachelor's degree in business.
  • Knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, including standard security programs and OSHA regulations.
  • Working knowledge of various aircraft types.
  • Familiar with GSE maintenance procedures.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts, weekends, or irregular shifts.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.

Responsibilities

  • Understand contract requirements and customer expectations.
  • Determine and maintain the necessary and appropriate amount of personnel and equipment necessary to fulfill these requirements.
  • Plan and organize the most efficient use of resources to meet these requirements through development and analysis of employee and equipment work schedules.
  • Direct and control people and equipment to efficiently complete the tasks within established company standards.
  • Monitor and/or conduct required training of personnel.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations.
  • Provide employee counseling and discipline as needed.
  • Be responsible for the security of company funds, supplies, and equipment.
  • Be responsible for ensuring compliance with established company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain working relationships with customers and provide prompt responses to service requests.
  • Actively search for and report to station management for future business opportunities.
  • Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions while at work.
  • Cooperate with their manager / supervisor to allow them to perform or comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company.
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided by the company in the interests of health, wellbeing, safety, security, or welfare reasons.
  • Inform their manager / supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health, wellbeing, safety, and security.
  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in company and carrier Safety and Security procedures.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.
  • Attend training courses as may be required by AGI.
