About The Position

The Cargo Handler is responsible for safely and promptly loading and unloading freight on trailers. The role involves frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying freight. Duties also include staging and auditing next-day routes, moving freight within the warehouse, checking in and unloading appliances from appliance carriers, and performing other warehouse duties as assigned. The position requires maintaining a positive, professional, and safe work environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and during events as needed, and to act as backup for Admin as needed. Pay is $18.51 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and communication skills and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work, follow directions, organize duties, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to verify freight documentation and condition, label boxes correctly, and prepare freight for shipment.
• Ability to accurately stage and audit next-day routes and move freight within the warehouse.
• Ability to accurately check in and unload appliances from appliance carriers.
• Schedule flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and during events as needed.
• 1–2 years of prior warehouse experience.
• Must be certified to drive a fork truck.

Nice To Haves

• Post-high-school education.
• Previous experience with RF scanners and computer data-entry systems for tracking inventory.
