About The Position

The Cargo Agent ensures that customer freight and mail are accurately processed and safeguarded in a safe and efficient manner according to Ryan Air policies and procedures. The role handles freight and mail processing, reconciliation, delivery, aircraft loading and unloading, ramp and storage-area upkeep, customer assistance, and ground service equipment operation and maintenance. The agent also assists with facility repairs and reports facility or vehicle maintenance needs and discrepancies to a supervisor or the Director of GSE/Facilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must be able to pass a ten-year security background check for airport badging at Anchorage, Nome, Kotzebue, and Bethel stations.
The position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing for up to 8–10 hours a day.
Requires frequent and routine lifting or moving of items weighing over 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

Accurately process received mail and freight, including entering information into the computer database.
Assist with daily reconciliation of mail and freight on hand.
Deliver backhaul mail and freight promptly to the post office, main-line carriers, or customers.
Assist with loading and unloading aircraft, including aircraft associated with ground service contracts.
Maintain ramp and mail and freight storage areas.
Stage flight loads according to the pre-load manifest.
Load aircraft.
Marshal aircraft.
Assist customers in person or by phone with shipping, receiving, or locating freight orders, and make deliveries as needed.
Perform daily maintenance and fluid checks on ground service equipment.
Assist with facility repair and maintenance.
Notify a supervisor or the Director of GSE/Facilities of facility or vehicle maintenance needs or discrepancies.
Operate ground service equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
