About The Position

The Caretaker maintains each property with exceptional cleanliness. This role involves providing exceptional service to customers and fostering good resident relations as a valuable part of the effective on-site team. The Caretaker must know and adhere to standards of quality cleaning and perform apartment turn-over duties within the required timeframe. Daily cleaning of interior and exterior common areas is essential, including floor care, carpet cleaning, window washing, wall and door spot-washing, garbage removal, and assisting with snow removal, watering/weeding, and debris pick-up. The Caretaker is also responsible for reporting malfunctions of amenities, fixtures, and damages to their supervisor, replacing light bulbs, cleaning vacant apartments and garages, and practicing proper and safe use of materials and equipment. They will also recommend the purchase of cleaning supplies and equipment and maintain the supply room. This role requires working in extreme climate/temperature conditions (-20 to 110 degrees), and in rain and snow.

Requirements

  • One year of previous caretaking or related cleaning experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards and techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, pull and push
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds to chest height
  • Ability to work in extremes of climate/temperature (-20 to 110 degrees), rain, snow.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customers with exceptional service and foster good resident relations.
  • Be a valuable part of the effective on-site team.
  • Know and adhere to standards of quality cleaning.
  • Perform apartment turn-over duties within required timeframe.
  • Keep all interior and exterior common areas clean on a daily basis, to include sweeping, mopping, polishing and stripping floors, vacuuming, spot cleaning and/or shampooing rugs and carpet, cleaning windows, spot-washing stained walls and doors, removing garbage from receptacles and inset plastic liners, and assisting with snow removal, sweeping, watering/weeding and debris pick up.
  • Report malfunctions of amenities, bath fixtures, lighting fixtures and/or damages to any common areas to supervisor.
  • Replace light bulbs.
  • Clean debris from vacant apartments and garages.
  • Practice proper and safe use of material usage and equipment.
  • Recommend purchase of cleaning materials and equipment; maintain supply room.
  • Work in extremes of climate/temperature (-20 to 110 degrees), rain, snow.
  • Perform/prepare special projects
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
