About The Position

Trellis Mgmt has been managing properties in the Twin Cities, surrounding metro area since 1990. With over 50 properties and 4500 units, we hire the most skilled and knowledgeable individuals in their respective careers to drive business success. The Caretaker/Janitor is responsible for the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the apartment building. You will have to organize and prioritize each day in order to accomplish the daily required job duties. You will also be responsible for unit turn-overs and assisting with snow removal. Cleaning of 14 buildings and grounds in a Project Based Section 8 Community.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to act quickly, calmly, and professionally in emergency situations.
  • Must be able to do physical activities, such as bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing & pulling, and lift 50 lbs.
  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Custodial/Janitorial/Cleaning: 2 years (Required)
  • Driver's License & vehicle insurance (Required)

Responsibilities

  • General Cleaning of common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, washing and mopping floors, cleaning windows, dusting, spot cleaning walls, cleaning doors, replacing light bulbs, washing light fixtures, and cleaning laundry rooms.
  • Grounds maintenance including keeping grounds clean of debris, ensuring trash is in dumpsters, watering lawn, flowers and shrubs, monitoring parking lot, ensuring sidewalks, stairs and building entrances are free of snow and ice, applying ice melt, cleaning dumpster areas, monitoring and reporting inoperable exterior lighting, and monitoring and reporting needed repairs.
  • Apartment Turnover Cleaning including removing items from vacated apartments, cleaning appliances, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning ceiling fans, ensuring light bulbs are working, checking for cobwebs, dusting breaker boxes, and making a list of needed repairs or replacements.
