About The Position

This position involves mixing and applying plastering materials to interior and exterior surfaces using various tools and techniques. Responsibilities include lathing and plastering bases, performing dust control, and cleaning up work areas. Travel to Developments within the assigned neighborhood is a requirement, specifically covering Manhattan Neighborhood 02 (Baruch, Gompers, and Wald). NYCHA employees are encouraged to apply and must submit a letter of recommendation from their supervisor, having served one year at their current location and title. NYCHA residents are also encouraged to apply. Appointed Caretaker Ps are encouraged to gain knowledge for career advancement to Plasterer.

Responsibilities

• Mix plastering materials properly.
• Apply plastering materials to interior and exterior surfaces (use of hawk, trowel, Darby, slicker; working of dots and screeds); apply plaster coats (scratch, brown and finish).
• Lathing and plastering bases (channel iron, wire lath, etc.).
• Perform dust control and clean up.
