About The Position

This position is for a Caretaker (HA) within the NYC Housing Authority. The role involves preparing and applying plastering materials to interior and exterior surfaces, lathing and plastering bases, and performing dust control and cleanup. Travel to Developments within an assigned neighborhood is a requirement, specifically covering Manhattan Neighborhood 02 which includes Baruch, Gompers, and Wald. Requirements

• For NYCHA employees: A letter of recommendation from your supervisor must be submitted with your resume.
• NYCHA employees applying for transfer, promotional, title or level change opportunities must have served a period of one year at current location and in current title and level (if applicable).
• Travel to Developments within assigned neighborhood is a requirement, with the frequency determined by the Neighborhood Administrator.
• There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position.

Responsibilities

• Mix plastering materials properly.
• Apply plastering materials to interior and exterior surfaces (use of hawk, trowel, Darby, slicker; working of dots and screeds); apply plaster coats (scratch, brown and finish).
• Lathing and plastering bases (channel iron, wire lath, etc.).
• Perform dust control and clean up.
