About The Position

This position involves mixing and applying plastering materials to interior and exterior surfaces using various tools and techniques. Responsibilities include applying different plaster coats, lathing, and performing dust control and cleanup. Caretaker Ps are encouraged to acquire the knowledge needed for career advancement to Plasterer. Travel to developments within the assigned neighborhood (Brooklyn Neighborhood 06, including Marcy, Roosevelt, Sumner, and Tompkins) is a requirement, with frequency determined by the Neighborhood Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Mix plastering materials properly.
• Apply plastering materials to interior and exterior surfaces (use of hawk, trowel, Darby, slicker; working of dots and screeds); apply plaster coats (scratch, brown and finish).
• Lathing and plastering bases (channel iron, wire lath, etc.).
• Perform dust control and clean up.
