About The Position

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers/Companions to join our team in Mount Pleasant, IA. In this role, you will build meaningful relationships with clients, brighten their days, and provide essential support to seniors and adults with disabilities. We value the impact our caregivers make and are committed to providing a supportive and positive work environment. We provide the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and are ready to assist you as you care for our vulnerable population.

Requirements

  • High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate.
  • Successfully completed a written Competency Evaluation.
  • Sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Able to lift at least __ with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Current and valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients with homemaking activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Spending less than 20% of work time on general household work during each shift.
  • Providing companionship during activities such as accompanying clients on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, and assisting with hobbies.
  • Preparing meals and grocery shopping.
  • Providing care for seniors and adults with disabilities.
