Part-Time Caregiver for the Elderly
About The Position
Villa Redondo Care, an 80-bed assisted living facility serving the elderly community (ages 59+) in Downtown Long Beach, California, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Caregiver to assist residents in a fast-paced environment. The facility is willing to train. The schedule specified for this part-time opening is Tuesdays and Thursdays; the posting also notes that full-time and part-time positions are available in various shifts. The Caregiver assists with residents’ basic needs and activities of daily living, communicates concerns and changes to residents, families, and the Wellness Coordinator, and provides ethical, respectful care. The role includes documenting and communicating with physicians or other medical professionals, supporting residents’ comfort, engagement, and independence, responding calmly during emergencies, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Pass the DOJ/FBI Live Scan criminal background clearance mandated by licensing.
- Pass a pre-employment physical and TB test clearance.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Caregiving and medical administration experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the basic needs of a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly.
- Complete daily assignments involving assistance with residents’ activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively with residents, families, and the Wellness Coordinator about changes or concerns.
- Provide ethical and respectful care to residents.
- Document and communicate with physicians and/or other medical professionals.
- Work with medical professionals to help reduce residents’ pain while promoting engagement and independence.
- Maintain composure during emergencies.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
