About The Position

JEVS Care at Home is hiring caregivers to provide non-medical assistance to elderly or disabled clients in Crafton Heights, Crafton, Squirrel Hill, and Hazelwood. The role supports clients in maintaining independence by assisting with daily living needs according to each client’s Plan of Care. Caregivers receive training and tools for the role, including training on Activities of Daily Living (ADL), access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and opportunities for CPR, First Aid, and Dementia training. The position includes orientation, a competency examination, and annual recertification training and testing. Caregivers must maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with the Client Care Manager.
Completion of Caregiver Orientation.
Must satisfactorily complete the JEVS Care at Home written exam and orientation program, with an 80% passing score on the post-orientation exam.
Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

Certified Nurse Aide certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate understanding of and encourage the independent living philosophy.
Complete a competency examination after training and orientation addressing standard regulations.
Complete an annual recertification course and test.
Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Complete instrumental activities of daily living according to the client’s Plan of Care.
Assist clients with aspects of daily life as indicated by their care plans.
