About The Position

Amada Senior Care is seeking compassionate, experienced, and reliable caregivers, specifically CNAs and HCAs, to join our team. We are hiring for a full-time caregiver position, approximately 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday, to provide hands-on assistance to clients in the Portland, Oregon area. We offer paid training, flexible scheduling, and a comprehensive benefits package. Our caregivers are essential to our mission of improving the lives of the clients we serve.

Requirements

  • Caregiver with at least two years of caregiver professional experience, highly preferred.
  • Ability to lift, move, or assist patients using proper body mechanics.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Proof of current auto insurance.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with seniors.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Must be over the age of 21.

  • CNAs and HCAs are preferred.

  • Competence: Possess the knowledge, experience, and training to provide exceptional senior care. Competent in caregiving skills. Present themselves well and dress professionally.
  • Communication: Proactive in asking questions and addressing any issues a client has. Truly listen and answer questions thoughtfully. Feel a sense of urgency and responsibility about making the person we care for as comfortable as possible.
  • Commitment: Committed to doing their best to navigate delicate and challenging care situations. Trustworthy, resourceful, and hard-working.
  • Confidently Humble: Confident in abilities, yet still willing to learn each client's unique needs and preferences. Not hesitant or fearful about engaging with clients, but also don't assume they know more about what a client needs than the client themselves or their family members.
  • Congenial: Nurturing and foster a sense of connection and camaraderie with those we care for. Warmth and communication helps clients understand how much we appreciate them.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with ADL's (Activities of Daily Living) including bathing, dressing, transferring, toileting, incontinence, and feeding.
  • Assisting with IADL's (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) including shopping, housekeeping, medication management, and meal preparation.
  • Following each client's Care Plan.
