About The Position
Assisting Hands Home Care is hiring Caregivers, CNAs, HHAs, PCAs, DSPs, and Home Care Assistants to provide non-medical in-home care for seniors and adults in Crown Point, Lake County, Porter County, and surrounding communities. If you are compassionate, dependable, and enjoy helping others remain safe and independent at home, we would love to hear from you. We offer flexible PRN and Part-Time scheduling with all shifts available: days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. You will work close to home, receive paid orientation and ongoing training, and have supportive office staff available 24/7. This role involves one-on-one client care with competitive hourly pay and recognition for great performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
- Ability to pass a national background check
- Dependable, patient, and professional
- Comfortable using a smartphone for communication and scheduling
Nice To Haves
- Preferred caregiving experience (Caregiver, CNA, HHA, PCA, DSP, or similar)
- CPR certification and TB test preferred or willing to obtain
Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Help with mobility, ambulation, and transfers
- Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping and laundry
- Provide medication reminders only
- Observe and report changes in client condition
- Use mobile app for scheduling and documentation
- Follow agency safety and infection control procedures
