About The Position

The Caregiver provides assistance to residents in the Assisted Living Program with activities of daily living, helping them maintain quality of life, dignity, and independence. The role also includes providing emotional and social support, documenting assistance, and communicating resident concerns to a supervisor. This is a part-time position requiring a CNA or CHHA license issued in New Jersey. The hourly rate is $21.00.

Requirements

At least one year of experience working in senior care.
A CNA or CHHA license issued in New Jersey.
English proficiency sufficient to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and coworkers, and respond to and communicate during emergency situations.
Basic computer skills.
Compassionate, professional, kind, engaging, empathetic, and helpful demeanor.
Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in high-stress situations.
Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and coworkers.

Responsibilities

Assist residents as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
Follow the schedule of residents’ needs established by the supervisor.
Provide emotional and social support to residents.
Document assistance in the daily log.
Inform the supervisor of resident issues or concerns.
Respect and encourage residents’ independence and dignity.
Maintain residents’ confidentiality.
