About The Position

We are seeking weekend-only caregivers to provide non-medical in-home support to clients. The position is presented as a potential fit for nursing students. Caregivers assist with activities of daily living, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and companionship so clients can maintain their independence and quality of life at home. Clients are available in Ambler, Coopersburg, Doylestown, Quakertown, and Yardley. The schedule is Friday through Sunday.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Valid driver license and reliable transportation.
Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective communication skills in English.
Smartphone with a data plan for the scheduling and documentation app.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or a related field is preferred.
Experience with dementia or Alzheimer care.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, Certified Home Health Aide certification, or nursing school student status.
Experience with electronic health records or care documentation apps.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Prepare nutritious meals according to clients’ dietary needs and preferences.
Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, and tidying living spaces.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Assist with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics.
Remind clients to take medications as prescribed; medication administration is non-medical.
Escort clients to appointments and run essential errands.
Monitor and report changes in client condition to the care coordinator.
Accurately and promptly document care activities and observations.
Follow each client’s individualized care plan.
