Caregiver - Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Grow with Homes for Independent Living as a Caregiver assisting 1–4 adult clients with behavioral, medical, and/or physical disabilities in a residential home setting. The role focuses on client safety and well-being, help with daily tasks, positive engagement during activities, and behavioral redirection as needed. Training is provided. First-, second-, and third-shift openings are currently available. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have compassion for client care and well-being.
- Be able to prioritize multiple duties and responsibilities.
- Consent to a background check.
Nice To Haves
- A driver’s license and three years of clean driving record are preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assure the health, safety, and well-being of all clients.
- Provide positive behavioral redirection and encourage self-coping mechanisms.
- Assist with daily living activities as needed based on care plans.
- Assist with food preparation and cleaning as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, guardians, and staff.
- Complete daily logs and report inconsistencies.
- Chaperone clients at fun events and redirect behaviors as needed.
Benefits
- Competitive hourly pay of $14.00–$16.00, plus shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for second shift and $2.00 per hour on weekends; pay depends on experience, location, and shift.
