About The Position

Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides in Summit County, Ohio. This role involves providing in-home care to clients, primarily older adults, assisting them with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meals, light cleaning, and companionship. The job is physically demanding, requiring caregivers to be on their feet most of the day and assist clients with mobility. Caregivers do not administer medication or perform medical tasks. The position is a W-2 job with opportunities for raises based on performance and tenure, as well as bonuses for referrals and perfect attendance. The company emphasizes the importance of reliability and empathy, as clients depend on caregivers for their daily needs. Caregivers are matched with clients based on their stated limits regarding pets, smoking, travel distance, days, and times. The role requires a commitment to working at least 20 hours per week, with availability between 6 AM and 8 PM, though most work occurs between 8 AM and 5 PM. Shifts can range from 2-3 hours to 8 hours, and caregivers typically have 2-4 regular clients per week. Requirements

  • STNA license in Ohio (active or expired) for Path 1
  • HHA certificate (30+ hours, signed by RN or completed online) for Path 2
  • 1+ year of experience at one company where the supervisor was an RN or LPN for Path 3
  • Driver's license
  • Own car with insurance that covers work driving
  • Pass background checks
  • Work at least 20 hours/week
  • Available between 6AM-8PM
  • Legal right to work in the US
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Willingness to help people (for Path 4 - no experience required)
  • Ability to show original documents for identity and work authorization verification during online orientation.
  • Ability to pass a competency test (written and skills demonstration) unless an STNA or have prior passing results.
  • Commitment to attendance and punctuality, as it impacts raises and client care.
  • Ability to travel to clients' homes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a caregiver.
  • Experience in nursing homes, hospitals, skilled home health agencies (Medicare-certified), or assisted living with licensed nurses on staff (for Path 3).
  • Prior passing results for an HHA competency test.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as baths, getting dressed, meals, light cleaning, and errands.
  • Provide companionship to clients.
  • Help clients move around.

  • Report incidents within 24 hours.
  • Maintain good feedback from clients.
  • Answer office calls and texts quickly.
  • Send updated documents when requested (insurance, license, training).
  • Complete feedback forms when sent.
  • Attend to clients based on their needs, which may involve shifts as short as 2-3 hours or up to 8 hours.
  • Work with assigned regular clients on a weekly basis.
  • Pick up extra fill-in shifts for additional hours if desired.
