About The Position

TheKey is actively seeking reliable, compassionate, and empathetic professionals to join their team as caregivers in Vancouver, BC. Applicants must be local to Vancouver and legally eligible to work in Canada. In this role, caregivers will have the opportunity to deliver premium, in-home care to senior individuals, allowing them to safely and comfortably age in their own homes. TheKey is passionately committed to enabling seniors to live safely and comfortably in their own homes, striving to provide the highest level of care possible. They believe their caregivers are integral to this mission and equip them with the necessary resources and training to deliver exceptional care.

Requirements

Must have at least 1 year of experience caring for the elderly
Must have a good command of English and be able to converse with ease on a wide variety of topics
No history of criminal background
Passionate about providing care for elders
Must be compassionate, honest, reliable, confident, and highly sociable
Must feel confident in your ability to engage the Client in activities and conversation
Must be able to cook
Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
3 professional references including telephone numbers
Ability to reliably travel to client homes and office location(s)
Ability to safely perform client transfers with weight-bearing requirements, contingent upon client condition and needs
Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday
Applicants must be local to Vancouver
Must retain legal eligibility to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

Preferably have experience dealing with Clients with dementia

Responsibilities

Implement personalized care plans that cater to the holistic needs of clients
Deliver outstanding care by assisting with various daily activities and managing the overall well-being of clients
Treat clients like family and go above and beyond to improve their quality of life
Contribute to managing activities of daily living (ADLs)
Maintain client autonomy
Work primarily with the elderly in autonomous, semi-autonomous, and total care conditions
Assist with personal hygiene such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Provide cooking and nutritional guidance
Offer transportation services
Perform light housekeeping services and laundry
Provide medication reminders
Assist with exercise and physical assistance
Engage in conversation, companionship, and mental stimulation
