About The Position

Merakey is seeking Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team at their program in Redding, CA. This role involves providing personal care and support to clients living in their homes, assisting with daily living activities, ensuring a safe home environment, and participating in client activities. The position offers opportunities for individuals with experience as a Caregiver, Direct Care Worker, or Home Health Aide, and also welcomes those aspiring to enter these fields. The Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) interact with and support individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings, including community, family, or individual homes. The care provided aims to enhance the health, safety, dignity, and contentment of consumers by assisting and training them in personal care, communication, and social skill development. This role specifically provides direct support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities who may have co-occurring medical support needs, within a residential setting.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) preferred
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide the personal care and support to clients who live in the home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation and companionship
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies
