About The Position

The Caregiver provides assistance to residents in the Memory Care Program with activities of daily living, helping them lead a quality life while maintaining their dignity. The role involves companionship, support, restorative interventions, activity participation, mealtime service, memory care laundry, and basic housekeeping within the memory care neighborhood. Caregivers respond to resident, family, and employee concerns in a timely manner and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.

Requirements

Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and other employees, and respond to and communicate during emergencies.
Basic computer skills.
Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Compassionate, kind, engaging, and helpful demeanor.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to solve practical problems and handle situations with limited standardization.
Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and coworkers.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with seniors with dementia, including participation in activities.
A CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on the state.

Responsibilities

Provide kind, caring, and consistent companionship and support to residents.
Assist and encourage Memory Care residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
Provide restorative interventions as needed to help residents remain as independent as possible.
Participate in and lead one-on-one and group activities.
Serve residents during mealtime.
Assist with memory care laundry and basic housekeeping within the memory care neighborhood.
Respond to and follow up on resident, family, and employee concerns in a timely manner.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and coworkers.
