About The Position

Join the KFI Team in Lincoln! KFI is a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living full, independent lives within their communities. We are seeking energetic, creative, and compassionate individuals to join our growing team. At KFI, no two days are the same, and your ideas and work will have a significant impact. This role involves supporting a 53-year-old man in his own apartment in Lincoln. He is looking for a creative, fun, and flexible support person who will help him maintain control over his life, support his decisions, and assist with household tasks, budgeting, meal planning, and maintaining contact with friends. The focus is on empowering the individual to live his best life.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Valid Maine Driver’s License (Required)
A Registered and Insured Vehicle (Required)
Evening and weekend availability

Responsibilities

Support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living full, independent lives in their communities.
Assist an individual with household tasks and budgeting.
Help with coming up with grocery lists and ideas for new meals.
Provide support with maintaining contact with friends, including sending messages.
Ensure the individual maintains control and support their decisions.
Focus on the individual and only respond to their phone for emergencies.
Deal with personal concerns outside of work hours.
