Caregiver On-Call Position

PlymouthCanton, MI
Onsite

About The Position

On Call Caregiver will be officially designated as the on-call person to caregivers in cases of staff call offs or emergent needs, with direct supervision by the Office Manager and infrequent/emergent support from the rest of the administrative team. On Call Caregiver is the backbone of the leadership team and our mission value. During the designated on-call period (required 2 weekends a month or total 4 weekend days a month), On Call Caregiver is expected to be on standby for any and all infrequent call off “surges”, they would need to be committed to being covered by the On Call Caregiver. There is a potential for on-call shifts to cover weekdays as well. On Call Caregiver must always maintain a reliable form of transportation as travel to the clients is necessary. On Call Caregiver will be a vital player in an overall plan to have 24/7 call off coverage for the full week for the office, meaning he or she will operate in conjunction with administration to assure full week coverage. On Call Caregiver is the key support for providing our clients reliable care outside office hours. All personnel will directly report to the Office Manager on topics of scheduling and may act as delegates for other scheduling tasks. On Call Caregiver will be eligible for a bi-weekly bonus to be determined at owners’ discretion. On Call Caregiver will take an active contributing role with management on all other personnel topics, such as record keeping of shift incidents, nomination for employee raises, training, process improvement, etc. Ideal candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of devotion to caring for others, effectively and reliably. This is vital, as On Call Caregiver must maintain a status as an acceptable fill-in caregiver for all clientele, with rare exception. To adequately provide on call, caregivers MUST be able to work in all available environments (including facilities) with few restrictions (dogs, cats, smokers, driver, distance). Including clients in need of care including transfers, incontinence care, medical equipment, etc. On Call Caregiver must be available for any shift on that day between 6AM and midnight. On Call Caregiver needs to text or call the On Call phone at 6am and Noon on that day to check in. If the On Call Caregiver is sick or has any other conflict, they must call in advance just as they would for a normal shift according to our Attendance Policy. If the caregiver is assigned a shift, they will still get paid the stipend for the On Call pay plus getting paid for the shift. Note that On Call pay does not count as hours worked for overtime purposes and is not affected by holiday multipliers.
