About The Position

As a non-profit, TPC provides a wide range of services from mental health and substance use support to intellectual and developmental disability care, empowering clients of all ages to achieve dignity and independence. We invite you to join us in our vision of “Making Lives Better!” The Caregiver performs direct care for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting for male or female residents. The Caregiver is responsible for training, transporting, preparation of meals, feeding, bathing, toileting, medication administration and maintaining a safe and clean environment for the residents, and other duties associated with daily living. Transports consumers to and from scheduled day programs, outings, appointments, and recreational functions as required. Includes transporting in cars, minivans, and 15 passenger vans. Order, stock, inventory, and rotate food supplies to maintain sufficient quantities to facilitate the operation of the group home with household needs. Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test
Employees may be required to utilize their personal mobile phones for two-factor authentication (2FA)
Valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
Perform direct care for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting
Provide training, transportation, meal preparation, feeding, bathing, toileting, and medication administration
Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents
Transport consumers to and from scheduled day programs, outings, appointments, and recreational functions
Order, stock, inventory, and rotate food supplies
Adhere to TPC Business Code of Conduct and report concerns if ethical and/or business standards are compromised
