Requirements

  • MUST have at least 3 months of professional experience working as a caregiver
  • MUST be, or willin g to register as a California Home Care Aide (HCA)
  • MUST be able to clear a criminal background check by the DOJ/FBI
  • MUST have a current Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test (or willingness to complete one)
  • MUST obtain a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle
  • MUST be 18 years of age or older
  • MUST be able to provide 2 forms of ID such as a Driver's license, social security, Passport, and or Birth certificate

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Providing clients with Alzheimer’s/Dementia or related behaviors ( i.e., wandering, paranoia) a safe and secure environment by monitoring their health and safe ty, a s it is a priority.
  • Assist clients with a ll the ir ADL’s (Activates of Daily Li ving) in accordance with individualized care plans ( i.e. , p ersonal hygiene assistance — oral care, grooming, toileting , i ncontinence c are, bathing, dressing, etc.)
  • Light housekeeping , laundry, and organiz ing to maintain a clean-living environment.
  • Meal preparation and assist with feeding if needed .
  • Transferring & Ambulation — provide safety, stability and support while clien t i s mobile and during transfers .
  • Transportation (i.e., appointments, grocery shopping, errands, outings, etc.)
  • Follow clients’ provided plan of care , safety p recautions and procedures.
  • Monitor, o bserve and report suspected concerns or chang e of clie nts' condition or healt h s tatus to a supervisor or the appropriate parti es immediate ly .
  • C ommunicat e effectively and respond to all forms of communication from the office in a timely manne r .
