About The Position

UCP Oregon is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a young man with developmental disabilities who lives independently in NW Portland. He is active and has interests in screenwriting, comic books, coffee, video games, and visiting Powell's. The role involves assisting with medication and meal preparation, household chores, bathing, and dressing. Additionally, the position includes providing life coaching and support during moments of anxiety. The position is located near public transit lines and offers street parking if driving is chosen.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass pre-hiring screenings including reference check, physical with a 50lb lifting test, and criminal history background check
  • Must be at least 18 years old if choosing to drive for UCP
  • Must have a current driver’s license if choosing to drive for UCP
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle if choosing to drive for UCP
  • Must have at least two years of driving experience if choosing to drive for UCP
  • Must have auto insurance if choosing to drive for UCP
  • Must have a clean driving record if choosing to drive for UCP

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the mental health or developmental disability field

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medication and meals
