About The Position

Responsible for the hands-on delivery of care and assistance with activities of daily living for all residents. Provides care that meets or exceeds expectations.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current Food Handler's Permit.
  • Willingness to work with the elderly
  • Must possess a current certification for First Aid and CPR
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisors, and associates.
  • Level II Assisted Living caregivers must possess a current CNA license or obtain one within 4 months of hire.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the RCC, Nurse, or Administrator.
  • Must have a recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of hire.
  • Ability to read or write English and communication effectively with residents, family members and staff.
  • Ability to read and understand facility policies and comply with them while on job.
  • They should at all times represent the epitome of SAL Management's "Super Caregiver".
  • Exposure to blood/bodily fluids is likely
  • Has ability to do occasional heavy lifting of residents (up to 40 lbs.)

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, cooking, incontinence, cleaning, medication administration, laundry, and oral care.
  • Maintain the dignity and privacy of all residents. Protect all residents' rights.
  • Assist residents with personal needs as requested, while helping to maintain the resident's independence and well-being.
  • Document appropriately the services delivered to residents and any significant changes in condition.
  • Report any concerns with the health and well-being to the Resident Care Coordinator, Nurse, or Administrator.
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
  • Meet or exceed the standards of appearance; comply with the sanitation rules, hygiene, and health standards of community personnel.
  • Ability to function independently
  • At times responsible for cooking, cleaning, and serving meals.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor.
