Assisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is seeking compassionate, reliable caregivers to provide non-medical, in-home care to seniors and adults in Crown Point, Merrillville, Valparaiso, Portage, Hobart, Chesterton, and across Lake & Porter Counties. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
  • Must pass a national background check
  • Current TB test and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Dependable, compassionate, and professional attitude
  • Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling and communication

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of caregiving experience (home care, assisted living, or facility)

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers)
  • Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
  • Help with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Offer medication reminders (no administration)
  • Support safe mobility and ambulation (walker, wheelchair, etc.)
  • Observe and report changes in client condition or behavior
  • Use our mobile app to clock in/out and document care notes
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures (CDC-compliant)
