About The Position

The Career & Technical Substitute Teacher serves as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction in designated Career Technical Training Trades subject areas. The role promotes a positive classroom atmosphere to support student motivation and maintains classroom discipline to maximize learning. The instructor maintains student personnel folders and records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area. Job Corps is a nationwide residential career training program that has operated for more than 60 years. It helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete high school, train for careers, and obtain employment. This position is located at the Laredo Job Corps Center in Laredo, Texas. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a nationwide criminal background check. The employer also requires passing a drug screen under its Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Texas Substitute Teaching permit.
Pass a drug screen in compliance with the Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Successfully complete a nationwide criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of classroom experience.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
