Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
  • Two (2) years recent work experience in law enforcement with a state or federal agency.
  • Successfully pass background check and drug test required on the contract.
  • Current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

  • State of Alaska teaching certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide students with Career Technical Training (CTT) instruction in a designated area of instruction.
  • Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, and/or study habits.
  • Coordinate with other industry team members to resolve issues affecting student training.
  • Develop and prepare lessons, and recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
  • Participate in student performance evaluations and prepare required documentation.
  • Administer and correct tests, and maintain progress and attendance reports.
  • Control the use of supplies, materials, and equipment, and recommend purchases.
  • Assist in developing community linkages and partnerships.
  • Access and train students to use computers and applicable software.
  • Monitor student progress in the program by ensuring compliance with established Data Integrity guidelines, including accurate and timely reporting of student progress and skill acquisition on Training Achievement Records (TARs), auditing of active and terminated TARs, and other documentation sensitive to Data Integrity policies.
  • Teach, model, and evaluate student employability skills.
  • Develop and conduct enrichment programs as assigned.
  • Transport students for training purposes as needed.
