About The Position

To structure the learning environment to study the integrated business program outlined by the LRSD Curriculum Guides and Arkansas Department of Workforce Education curriculum frameworks. This is a nine and one-half (9.50) month contract (195 days), plus benefit package. Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSD’s salary placement guidelines. This is an EXEMPT position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in Business Education with computer technology endorsement.
  • Valid Arkansas teaching certificate in Secondary Business Education grades 7-12.
  • Knowledge of current instructional software programs used in business education curriculum frameworks and ability to work with new software in an independent fashion.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in computers and written communications skills.
  • Evidence of ability to troubleshoot computer software and hardware problems.
  • Willingness to attend training sessions as applicable to courses being taught.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to work in a collaborative team approach with teachers and students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
  • Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year.

Responsibilities

  • Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
  • Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Prepares for classes assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal.
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with those goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the expectations of the curriculum frameworks outlined by the Arkansas Department of Workforce Education, Business /Marketing Education program.
  • Directs, instructs, and evaluates the learning experiences of the students in both curricular and extracurricular activities.
