About The Position

This position will provide individualized and group-based career support for students in assigned academic programs. Conduct career coaching sessions supporting exploration, internship/job searches, graduate school applications, and career transitions. Develop customized guides and templates, coordinate career fairs and employer events. Collect and analyze career data for assigned students achieving high knowledge rates and placement rates. Build partnerships with faculty, employers, and alumni to enhance student career readiness. Manage teaching assistants for professional development courses and present to student groups on career resources.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree and one year work experience are required.
  • All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual career coaching sessions to support exploration, internship/job searches, graduate school applications, career transitions
  • Provide personalized feedback and career coaching on résumés, cover letters, job offer negotiation, personal statements including graduate/professional school applications
  • Facilitate mock interviews and career assessments
  • Develop customized guides, templates, checklists for specialized populations
  • Review personal statements ensuring students communicate unique experiences and qualifications
  • Monitor and support student well-being; connect those in need to campus resources
  • Develop relationships with student leaders in organizations related to assigned majors
  • Create and distribute customized and mass email communications to increase student engagement with career services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with domestic and international employers to expand experiential learning and job opportunities
  • Conduct employer meetings and communications regularly
  • Coordinate outreach for career fairs and employer events
  • Host employer information sessions and campus interviews
  • Schedule and coordinate employer presentations in classes and campus venues
  • Maintain recruiter relationships and stay informed on hiring trends
  • Coordinate recruiting events; market via Handshake and other platforms
  • Organize employer trips and on-campus interviews
  • Deliver class presentations on career preparation topics (resume writing, interviewing, networking, graduate school applications)
  • Facilitate workshops in residence halls, student organization meetings, and departmental events
  • Create engaging content on career exploration, professional development, industry trends
  • Support faculty-led career panels and networking events
  • Teach or co-facilitate professional development course sections as needed
  • Present to student groups and classes on career resources and opportunities
  • Administer outreach calls, emails, messages to connect with nonresponsive graduates and gather career outcomes
  • Establish and maintain contact with graduating seniors achieving high knowledge and placement rates
  • Collect and analyze career data for assigned graduating students
  • Track placement information through various communication methods (email, calling, texting, messaging, LinkedIn)
  • Create and manage data spreadsheets to track student engagement and post-graduation outcomes
  • Track graduating students' placement data using reporting tools
  • Collaborate with academic departments; engage with faculty members regularly
  • Partner with faculty and campus offices across various disciplines
  • Provide departments with student data and analytics to support grant proposals, research projects, reaccreditation
  • Deliver trainings and workshops to campus partners on using career tools
  • Create department-specific career resources, guides, and graphics
  • Represent Career Center in departmental meetings and committees
  • Correspond with faculty for course support and collaboration
  • Invite faculty to employer events; connect them with recruiters
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
