Jobs for America's Graduates - Kansas (JAG-K) is seeking a full-time Career Specialist for El Dorado AE in El Dorado, Kansas. This role is ideal for someone passionate about student success, teaching students to overcome obstacles to graduation, and preparing them for career and college pathways. The position offers a flexible, full-time schedule during the school year with flexibility during the summer. JAG-K is a non-profit organization partnering with Kansas schools to support students facing challenges, offering an elective class focused on academic and positive supports to ensure high school diploma attainment. With programs in 54 Kansas school districts, JAG-K serves over 5,500 students, preparing them for post-secondary education, military service, or the workforce through career exploration and soft skills development. Requirements

• High school diploma
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work well independently and manage multiple priorities
• Residency in Kansas
• Proficiency with technology

Responsibilities

• Identifies, recruits, and educates students who have difficulties between them and graduation.
• Helps students make a successful transition from school to college, military, or career pathways using the JAG model.
• Develops positive relationships with students through project-based learning, trauma-informed care, and employer engagement.
• Delivers student-centered programs with the goal of helping youth achieve their greatest potential.
• Instructs 35 to 60 students to ensure performance outcomes are met or exceeded.
• Utilizes project-based learning and JAG activities such as student conferences centered around career, civic, social, and service-learning, and career exploration.
• Delivers value-added instruction, support, and advocacy to graduates and non-graduates through follow-up services.
