About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Primary Care APRN to provide comprehensive, adult patient-centered care across the lifespan. This role involves health promotion, disease prevention, acute and chronic disease management, and care coordination. The APRN will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, promoting evidence-based practice, patient education, and continuity of care to improve individual and population health outcomes. UAMS is a collaborative healthcare organization focused on improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing – Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • Two (2) years of RN experience.
  • One (1) year of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) experience.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; Arkansas APRN License, or eligible for licensure.
  • Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years of RN experience.
  • Two (2) years of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) experience.
  • Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire.
  • Primary Care clinic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues in collaboration with designated physicians.
  • Work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team, serving as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care, facilitate necessary consultations, and ensure timely, appropriate care.
  • Interact with patients and the public professionally and with courtesy.
  • Communicate accurately and completely; maintain confidentiality.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, management, and ancillary departments.
  • Demonstrate patient- and family-centered care concepts and follow the Code of Conduct guidelines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of UAMS.
