About The Position

The Career Skills Coach - FTT is responsible for guiding participants through individualized education and employment plans, monitoring their progress, and addressing barriers. This role involves administering assessments, providing job readiness coaching, and coordinating referrals for various support services. The coach will also collaborate with internal and external partners to facilitate job placement, employer connections, and work-based learning opportunities, ensuring compliance with all program and college directives. Additionally, the coach will promote a culture of belonging and support the college's commitment to diversity and equal opportunity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One (1) year of experience in case management, workforce coaching, or adult education.
  • OR Associate’s Degree from an accredited college.
  • Two (2) years of experience in case management, workforce coaching, or adult education.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake, orientation, and eligibility determination in accordance with program requirements.
  • Develop individualized education and employment plans.
  • Meet with participants regularly to monitor progress.
  • Identify and address barriers to education and employment.
  • Administer assessments and other required evaluations.
  • Provide job readiness coaching including resume writing and interview preparation.
  • Coordinate referrals for tutoring, financial assistance, childcare, transportation, or other supports.
  • Coordinate with the Career Placement Coordinator to support job placement, employer connections, and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Support collaboration with faculty, workforce partners, and SCC’s Apprentice Program to identify employment and apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Support transitions from training to employment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into required systems.
  • Maintain compliance with documentation standards and audit requirements.
  • Track attendance, credential attainment, and employment outcomes.
  • Ensure program integrity and compliance with all college, state, and federal directives to ensure a successful program.
  • Collaborate with SCC instructors, staff, and internal support programs.
  • Connect students to campus and community resources.
  • Participate in team meetings and program evaluation activities.
  • Participate in professional conferences and meetings; maintain liaisons with national, regional, state, and local agencies in workforce and educational opportunities.
  • Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute.
  • Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment.
