About The Position

The Career Placement Coordinator is responsible for leading the planning, organization, and implementation of career placement strategies and activities for various programs including SNAP E&T and the Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance Credentials Program. This role drives employment outcome initiatives, collaborates with Career Skills Coaches, and analyzes placement data to enhance program effectiveness. Additionally, the coordinator is involved in student recruitment and support, facilitating access to services, and tracking student progress. A key aspect of the role involves building and maintaining relationships with employers and community partners to identify workforce needs and create employment opportunities. The coordinator also supports program communication, prepares reports, and assists with marketing efforts. Professional growth is encouraged through participation in conferences and maintaining professional relationships. The role also emphasizes fostering a culture of belonging and supporting the college's policies on access, fair employment, and equal opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, industrial technology, workforce development, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in workforce development, healthcare, skilled trades, career placement, or employer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, organization, and implementation of SNAP E&T career placement strategies and activities.
  • Drive employment outcome initiatives for participants across all funding streams.
  • Collaborate with Career Skills Coaches to support participant progress and identify strategies to improve employment outcomes.
  • Coordinate career placement efforts across multiple funding streams to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
  • Analyze placement data and implement strategies to strengthen program effectiveness and employment results.
  • Recruit and advise youth and adult learners to participate in SNAP E&T, the Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance Credentials Program, and related initiatives.
  • Conduct outreach to community organizations, adult education programs, and high schools to promote healthcare, manufacturing, and skilled trades career pathways.
  • Facilitate access to support services as needed.
  • Collaborate with Career Skills Coaches and the Apprenticeship Program to support participant transition from training to employment.
  • Assist with collecting data, tracking, and reporting student progress, credential attainment, and job placement outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and regional employers to identify workforce needs and employment opportunities for credential completers.
  • Coordinate employer participation in job shadowing and hiring events related to SNAP E&T and the Nebraska Manufacturing Credentials Program.
  • Work closely with the local American Job Center and area human service agencies to establish referral networks and expand access to employment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with SCC Continuing Education, academic programs, employers, community partners, and workforce organizations to support participant training and employment outcomes.
  • Support communication among Workforce Leadership Teams, faculty/adjuncts, divisions, and employers to maintain alignment between instruction and workplace expectations.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports and data summaries for SNAP E&T, Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance Credential Program, and other internal/external stakeholders.
  • Assist in marketing and outreach efforts that promote program focus areas and highlight student and employer success stories.
  • Participate in professional conferences, meetings, and relevant local, state, or national educational activities.
  • Maintain relationships with professional counterparts and partner institutions.
  • Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute.
  • Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment.
