About The Position

This position assists in the implementation of career development programming for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). The individual will be expected to have and/or develop knowledge of and work with all CFAES programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1 year experience with career advising, student development, or a related area
• Outstanding communication skills working with people individually and in large group settings
• Ability to coordinate several projects and duties at the same time
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to connect with people and create connections
• Knowledge of online education, as well as technology platforms, including, but not limited to Canvas (or other online course management system), Handshake (or other career services system), Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
• Ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and external organizations

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with the OSU Extension network
• Background and working knowledge of food, agricultural, and environmental sciences industries
• Internship supervision experience

Responsibilities

• Program development and coordination with an emphasis on the development, growth, and expansion of internships within OSU Extension (30%)
• Provide individual and group career advising/coaching to students (25%)
• Assist with the coordination and facilitation of training and career development workshops geared toward students, including resume preparation, job-search strategies, interview, and experiential learning preparation skills (15%)
• Assist with the coordination and facilitation of training and workshops geared toward extension educators, including internship need assessment, internship creation, intern on-boarding guides, and supervisor/mentor training guides (15%)
• Coordinate OSU Extension internship tracking, collection, and reporting (10%)
• Serve as a liaison between the career development office and OSU Extension offices through partnership outreach (5%)

Benefits

• The salary range for this position is $21.35 - $27.88/hour.
• The offer for this position will fall within the positions pay range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
