About The Position

The Career Services Educator will provide guidance and coaching to jobseekers enrolled in the WIOA program, JFES program, and other grant programs in the North Central Region. This role involves engaging participants in online and technology-based learning within the One Stop Centers, providing user management, tracking, and reporting, and supporting curriculum enhancements. The educator will facilitate career readiness and credentialing workshops to help participants develop workforce skills and obtain industry-recognized credentials. This position requires collaboration with the Employment Services Coordinator, Career Advisors, and Program Managers to ensure participant success and program outcomes. The American Job Center team, including career advisors, job developers, and business services consultants, works together to assist jobseekers in their career endeavors.

Requirements

  • Experience in training, education, workforce development, or career development.
  • Experience developing and formatting resumes.
  • Knowledge of best practices in designing and developing instructional courses, webinars, workshops, and online programs.
  • Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude.
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in e-learning design and utilizing technology-related resources to foster learning.
  • High level of proficiency in computer programs and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree and three years of work experience in case management, human services, workforce development, or related experience.

  • Certified Professional Resume Writer credential is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning.
  • Establish clear expectations and encourage participant accountability.
  • Implement a structure and plan consistent with prescribed curriculum goals.
  • Maintain an awareness of differences in individual learning styles and strengths.
  • Facilitate daily Online Learning Center Career Skills classes focused on career readiness, job search strategies, interviewing skills, workplace professionalism, communication skills, digital literacy, and employment retention.
  • Facilitate a minimum of one Online Learning Center Credentialing Class per month to support participants in identifying, enrolling in, and completing industry-recognized credentials.
  • Assist participants with online course registration, credential enrollment, and troubleshooting related to credentialing platforms.
  • Facilitate a minimum of two Resume Builder Workshops per month utilizing AI-powered resume development tools, professional resume-writing methodologies, certified resume-writing techniques, real-world resume development experience, and industry best practices.
  • Record participant services and track enrollment, attendance, and credential attainment activities.
  • Recommend enhancements and improvements to Online Learning Center curriculum and credentialing opportunities.
  • Update training guides, workshop materials, and resource documents.
  • Develop materials, manuals, assessments, and related training aids.
