About The Position

Director of Career Services or Career Services Director works with students to help find and obtain their first jobs in their new career/field. This individual is focused on the career development of students and graduates while setting up relationships with prospective employers.

Requirements

• Sales or customer service background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keeps placement records and gives reports to accreditation agencies, the administration, faculty, and students.
• Manages aiding students in preparing for the workforce in their chosen career field.
• Collaborates with academic departments to aid with the placement of students in employment, work-study programs, internship, and externship opportunities.
• Meets or exceeds the required number of graduate placements through solicitation of job leads, graduate contacts, and appointments for interviews.
• Helps students in finding part-time work and monitors to be sure part-time employment does not interfere with progress toward graduation.
• Follow-up with students on job leads offered with potential employers.
• Ensures work-study and/or internships are coordinated effectively with proper documentation and commitment from all parties.
• Checks the progress of students who are interviewing and follows-up with employers and students to decide the outcome.
• Keeps an active lead generation system to ensure enough job opportunities are available for students and graduates.
