About The Position

ReadyCT is seeking a passionate and experienced Career Pathway Program Manager to join their team at Great Path Academy. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between K-12 education and employer needs, ensuring students are prepared for current and future career opportunities. The manager will oversee career-themed pathways, act as a liaison for various stakeholders, and manage high-impact projects and partnerships to foster student success. The position is primarily based at Great Path Academy but requires regular reporting to ReadyCT's Hartford office for team meetings.

Requirements

  • Passion for education and developing the potential of all students.
  • Experience mentoring or counseling high school youth and supporting their postsecondary and career planning.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships across a diverse array of stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a track record of delivering results on time.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; comfortable learning new technology systems.
  • Ability to multitask, while remaining detail-oriented and flexible.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Skills in active listening and group facilitation.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the Hartford district, inclusive of magnet locations in East Hartford and Manchester, for school site visits and employer events.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Salesforce or a related CRM system.
  • Strong ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational needs.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Backgrounds reflecting mentees’ experiences (e.g., first-generation college student, English learner, CT Alliance District graduate) preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Jira and other Atlassian products (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Support the growth and effectiveness of the school-based Industry Advisory Board (IAB) by collaborating with school administration and the IAB Chair, recruiting and onboarding a diverse IAB, conducting surveys to identify expertise, preparing meeting materials, partnering with the IAB to analyze labor market trends and identify credentials, and collecting/analyzing data on IAB performance.
  • Collaborate with corporate and community partners by contacting business leaders to develop work-based learning opportunities, assisting partners with program development, and tracking key metrics of success and student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with school staff by creating career exposure programming, serving as a liaison between corporate volunteers and school staff for tutoring/mentoring programs, facilitating work-based learning opportunities, assisting with pathway curriculum development, and conducting research on pathway industry-recognized credentials.
  • Collaborate with ReadyCT staff by leading a community of practice, overseeing the "Youth Employability Skills" (YES) Academy and other summer programming, driving student recruitment and retention, and evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Support desired student outcomes by leading strategic outreach and engagement efforts for student recruitment and retention, utilizing assessments to analyze student success metrics, and leveraging activity reports and data to build student profiles for academic and work-based learning opportunities.
