About The Position
BCIT is seeking a dedicated Hourly Career Major Tutor in the area of Culinary Arts. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (required), with some college coursework preferred, and relevant vocational certification or work experience in the Culinary Arts. This individual must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for supporting student success in hands-on, career-focused education.
Requirements
- High school diploma (required)
- Some college credits (preferred)
- Vocational certificate and/or relevant training or work experience in Culinary Arts
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to support students individually and in small groups
- Required criminal history background check
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status required
- Must establish NJ residency within one year of hire
- Drug testing required
Nice To Haves
- Some college coursework preferred
- Relevant vocational certification or work experience in the HVAC and construction trades
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with assigned instructors to support student learning
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to reinforce course content and practical skills
- Help students strengthen their understanding of the Culinary Arts related careers
Benefits
- Hourly Rate Equivalent Annual Range: $32,066 – $38,751 (Commensurate with hours worked, education, and experience)
