About The Position

This is a Salary Exempt position. The purpose of this position is to create a pipeline of leaders ready for placement into Production Supervisor positions after completing this intensive rotational development program. The program offers exposure to all areas of the Simmons business and extensive leadership development. Through the six-month rotational Career Leadership Program, you will gain hands-on experience in live operations across multiple poultry, pet food, and animal nutrition plants. You will also be exposed to other business aspects, including supply chain, sales, finance, and continuous improvement. We will invest in and develop your leadership skills through classroom training, mentoring, and on-the-job coaching. After graduation, you will be placed into a Production Supervisor position, equipped with the skills and enterprise knowledge needed for success, aligning with our value of Putting People First. You will accept the challenge of taking responsibility for special projects that drive innovation and continuous improvement while working towards your goals and key business metrics throughout your program placements. You will be evaluated, receive feedback, and coaching throughout this development program. We are seeking hungry and humble leaders with a heart to serve people. Upon successful completion and graduation from this program, you will be placed into a production supervisor role in a previously agreed-upon region and/or business unit. You will work hard and prove your leadership capabilities at Simmons; placement is not guaranteed. Once you become a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering product for internal and/or external customers by leading team members in their daily work. You will lead, coach, motivate, and prioritize team member safety while supporting their success. You will own your production lines or areas and take ownership of continuous improvement as we grow and improve together. You will participate as a member of the Team, contributing to the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. You will attend appropriate team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness on all major issues. You will accept responsibility to quickly identify areas lacking cohesiveness and work supportively with the team to resolve issues, actively seeking and reinforcing actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization. You will perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives. Requirements

  • Willingness to lead, take charge, and desire to take care of people.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Familiarity with computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • 2 years of education with 2 years experience or a Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience.
