Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics
  • Strong academic record, and demonstrated intellectual curiosity
  • Motivation to learn, adapt, and contribute across a variety of project types
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organized, responsive, and able to balance multiple responsibilities in a team environment
  • Genuine interest in public sector infrastructure design and community-focused solutions
  • EIT certification within 1 year required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word

Nice To Haves

  • Previous design or programming internship in the engineering or public works industry is a plus
  • AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D preferred
  • PLC/ operator interface software development
  • SCADA HMI application software
  • Basic programming for Python, C, C#, Java, and/or Rust
  • completed EIT preferred
  • Desire to pursue PE licensure within 4–5 years

Responsibilities

  • Apply your education to real-world challenges while receiving mentorship and training from experienced engineers
  • Support projects involving public water, wastewater, stormwater, irrigation, and transportation infrastructure
  • Design and develop electrical control systems for automated control systems in municipal and industrial applications
  • Participate in inspections of control system installations, field instrumentation testing, troubleshooting, and startup.
  • Work across offices and disciplines to contribute to multi-office project teams
  • Engage in a supportive team culture that encourages asking questions, solving problems, and growing professionally
